Root Canal Treatment
To Choose Us
Root canal treatment is a type of restorative therapy used on dying or abscessed teeth. While crowns or fillings treat the ‘top’ of a tooth, endodontic therapy addresses the nerve chamber throughout the entire structure. By removing the diseased tissues and filling the hollow canal, we can treat the source of severe pain and seal out bacteria to prevent reinfection.
You may need a root canal if your tooth is:
• Abscessed
• Causing severe pain
• Cracked
• Severely decayed
• Showing signs of nerve death
Sometimes traumatic injuries — such as automobile or sporting accidents — can cause tooth loss that isn’t visible for years or even decades.
Root canal therapy allows us to preserve teeth and avoid otherwise preventable dental extractions. Instead, you can keep and continue using your tooth for several more years.
Getting a root canal is similar to a filling appointment, except the procedure takes a bit more time. Your tooth will be thoroughly numbed as the infected nerve is removed (and the inside of your tooth is medicated). Following your endodontic procedure, we will arrange to fit the tooth with a crown to protect the brittle, non-vital tooth structure.
